SEGGER releases embOS simulation for Linux

SEGGER has released two new embOS simulation ports: embOS Sim Linux and embOS-MPU Sim Linux.

These ports provide developers with a seamless way to prototype and test applications by simulating hardware on a Linux host system, replacing physical hardware.

The embOS Sim Linux port supports both 32-bit and 64-bit systems and offers a kernel with a RAM usage of 132 bytes and 60 bytes for each task control block. The embOS-MPU Sim Linux is optimized for 32-bit systems, with the kernel using 156 bytes of RAM and 332 bytes for each task control block.

Both simulations include a ready-to-use board support package (BSP).

The new Linux ports complement SEGGER's existing embOS simulations for Windows, expanding platform support for embedded software development.

A list of all cores and compilers currently supported by embOS is available here: https://www.segger.com/products/rtos/embos/supported-cores-compiler/embos-ports-overview/
