SEGGER - Embedded Graphics Package Freely Available To NXP Customers

SEGGER’s Professional Embedded Graphics Package Now Freely Available To NXP Customers

The high performance emWin embedded graphics library developed by SEGGER Microcontroller is now offered by NXP Semiconductors in library form for free commercial use with NXP ARM 7/9 and Cortex-M microcontrollers. The software bundle offered by NXP includes the emWin Color basic package, the Window Manager/Widgets module including the new GUIBuilder, the Memory Devices module for flicker-free animation, the Antialiasing module for smooth display of curves, lines and fonts, the Font Converter and the VNC Server.

SEGGER will further support this offer from NXP and aid NXP’s customers by providing a source code upgrade to the emWin Pro Bundle.

emWin is designed to provide an efficient, processor and LCD controller independent graphical user interface (GUI) for any application that operates with a graphical LCD. It is compatible with single-task and multitask environments, with a proprietary operating system or with any commercial RTOS. It may be adapted to any size physical and virtual display with any LCD controller and CPU.

emWin is perfectly complemented by SEGGER’s RTOS and middleware for embedded systems. All SEGGER software products follow strict yet efficient coding standards. These standards allow SEGGER to create high quality code optimized for high performance and very low resource usage. The RTOS embOS is one of the smallest real-time kernels in the market offered with non-intrusive profiling tools. The file system emFile adds fail-safe support for different flash storage medias like SD and other memory cards, NOR and NAND memories. The drivers for NOR and NAND flash memories support wear leveling. The IP stack embOS/IP is one of the fastest IP-stacks in the market while still maintaining a very small footprint. The USB-stacks emUSB-Device and emUSB-Host add further flexibility to any embedded system.

“We congratulate NXP to their decision to offer a professional graphics package to the LPCware community. This confirms our view, that emWin is the leading graphics package in the embedded market. We want to further support their customers by offering an easy and discounted upgrade path to the full Source Code version of emWin”, says Shane Titus, director of SEGGER’s US operations.
