MCU-Link
SEGGER offers a firmware running on the NXP MCU-Link platform which makes it compatible with J-Link LITE.
Supported MCU-Link platforms
The following MCU-Link platforms are supported:
- MCU-Link Pro
- MCU-Link on-board
Note: The base model of MCU-Link is not supported. All information on this page that refers to "MCU-Link" actually refers to "MCU-Link Pro" and "MCU-Link on-board" if not explicitly mentioned otherwise.
Getting Started with MCU-Link
NXP provides an installer for Windows 10, macOS and Ubuntu Linux which can be downloaded from the web page for the board being used. This installer includes driver setup files (for Windows) and scripts to program the MCU-Link firmware.

Terms of Use
SEGGER created a firmware which runs on the NXP MCU-Link Pro / MCU-Link on-board, making it J-Link compatible. In order to make use of this firmware, the following Terms Of Use must be accepted:
- The firmware is only to be used with NXP target devices. Using it with other devices is prohibited and illegal.
- The firmware is for use with NXP i.MX / i.MX RT / LPC / Kinetis / K32 evaluation boards only. It is not for use with custom hardware.
- The firmware may only be used for development and/or evaluation purposes. It may not be used for production purposes.
- The firmware is made available without any warranty and without support.
- The firmware may be used with the NXP MCU-Link Pro / MCU-Link Pro on-board platform only.
- For MCU-Link on-board: The firmware may only be used with evaluation boards mentioned in 2) that implement the MCU-Link on-board.
If there is any doubt if a certain use may be considered within the foregoing scope it is strongly recommended to consult SEGGER prior to use.
When starting a debug session, a license dialog shows up which must be accepted in order to be able to work with MCU-Link.
